Summer School Library Privileges

[This is the information as it is presented on the Summer School website. There is no overt mention of Gutman, Loeb Design, or KSG (HKS!).]

To help you with your summer studies, you may make use of the University’s multimillion-volume system of Harvard libraries, including the electronic resources.

The central facility is Widener Library, which contains materials in history, the humanities, and the social sciences.

Lamont Library, located in Harvard Yard, provides most of the materials required for Summer School courses—including readings placed on reserve by faculty—as well as study areas, books for general reading, and the Language Resource Center.

Houghton Library houses Harvard’s collection of rare books and manuscripts.
Pusey Library holds the University Archives, Theatre Collection, and Map Collection, and it contains an extension of the Widener stacks.

Cabot Science Library serves as a general science library and houses research collections in mathematics and statistics. There are smaller research libraries in individual Faculty of Arts and Sciences disciplines.


Libraries at the Medical, Law, and Business Schools
You may use the Countway Library at the Medical School, and the Law School Library, but without borrowing privileges. You may purchase a one-day pass to Baker Library at the Business School for $15 a day or $60 a month.

Summer School students can ask reference questions and chat with a librarian via Ask Us Live, an instant messaging service that is available Sunday through Thursday, 3 to 10 pm. -->

Summer School Courses

The second "short session" of summer school started today. The days of Psychological Trauma are over! In its place, we can expect questions about colonialism in Africa, Congressional politics, and the Holocaust. The summer seminars for secondary school students and undergraduates continue.
