In case you hadn't noticed, cardswipe tunnel access has been extended to (oldtime) Lamont staff. We can now pass through the Level D tunnel back and forth to Widener. This may be new or old news to you. Formerly we could not exit D level.
If you work weekends, when the Pusey way is closed, this may be of interest to you.
Swipe your card in level D. Proceed down tunnel. Enter Widener D East Stack. Take the stairs straight in front of you as you enter the Widener stack
Go up two floors to Widener B East. From the stairs, circle around to the right. You will see a scary white door that says ALARM WILL SOUND. It is just a cardswipe door, like any other. Swipe and open the door. You will be in the Mass. Ave. corridor of Widener, next to the turnstile, on the "in" side. You can return that way as well.
Elapsed time in field trials: one minute forty seconds, door to door. Slightly quicker and a lot warmer than the aboveground route.
