FYI: Enhancements to the eric.ed.gov site

From the EBSS-L:

ERIC is pleased to announce that new search engine software has been implemented on the ERIC Web site as of Monday, July 17. While most search functionality is not affected, there are some significant changes:
· Faster search performance
· Exact matching of a word or acronym without the need to place the term in quotes. To invoke stemming, searchers can use the asterisk (*) wildcard; a minimum of three letters must be used (e.g., laugh* to retrieve laugh, laughing, laughter).
§ Enhanced author searches permitting inclusion of first or middle initials (e.g., “Doe, C. John” or “Doe, John C.”).
